Blendarm Solarmodul Solyco Phytonics Anti-Blend Anti-Glare

Anti-glare film

The solution for glare problems in a wide variety of applications! Our self-adhesive anti-glare film can be applied retroactively to solar modules. All solar modules that use standard solar glass are suitable for retrofitting. Even solar modules that are already installed are suitable for retrofitting with the anti-glare film!

The product consists of an extremely UV- and weather-resistant adhesive film coated with a scratch-resistant, surface-textured special layer. A special surface structuring on the micrometer scale provides the outstanding anti-glare properties.

The materials used ensure long-term durability and optimal performance, even under the harshest environmental conditions.

Why do solar panels glare?

The sun shines with an impressive 1.6 billion candelas per square meter (cd/m²). For comparison: the human eye is already dazzled at a brightness of 100,000 cd/m². Even modern anti-reflective coatings still reflect at least 1% of the incoming light, so glare is inevitable. And the shallower the angle of incidence, the more light is reflected.

From when does glare occur?

Technically, the perceived brightness of a solar module is determined by bidirectional reflectance distribution functions (BRDF). The solar module is illuminated under various angles of light incidence, and the reflected brightness is recorded for each spatial direction. The diagram shows the brightness around the specular point, the case where the angles of incidence and reflection of the light are equal. This is usually where the highest values are measured. The comparison shows that previously advertised anti-glare modules reflect so strongly at shallow light incidence that the human eye is dazzled.

Our anti-glare technology, on the other hand, reliably reduces the glare of the solar module across all angles of light incidence and is therefore considered "low-glare" according to the definition by Prof. Christoph Bucher (Bern University of Applied Sciences).
